Here we have a pre-post to tomorrows departure from Boston's Logan Airport. The pre-post is due to the fact that I have a scheduled departure of 6:05am which requires me to catch the 3am bus out of Portsmouth, NH. The 4am bus would cut it a little too close.
That is right, Maurice, I have to wake up at 2am and bolt! Can you just smell the insanity from where you are? Would Maurice ever do such a thing? What would Maurice do?
So, A short stay in Dallas and I am off to State number 48. For those of you who don't know I officially lost the 50 state sprint to both my mother and to Portland Mike. Congratulations to both of you by the way, but I have one question; did either of you do it under the age of 40? I shouldn't jinx myself, I will not have made my 50th state for another week. 49 being Idaho and 50 being Montana (gonna be a dental floss tycoon).
This is going to be a fast paced, high impact infusion of beauty and culture. We are going to see some of the most beautiful landscapes that the US has to offer; and we are going to do it at break-neck speed. My mission, to take as many pictures as possible and bring the adventure home to all of you by way of the digital super-highway. And, oh ya, I will get to spend some quality time with my parents...in the car.....for hours and hours. Is that the smell of insanity again. :)
Anyway, lots of fun ahead; hopefully for everyone. See you in New Mexico.

Free Wi-Fi
Kickin' back with a decaf coffee and blogging tonight from the Barns &Noble in Newington, New Hampshire. I thought I would try getting used to the traveling blog thing. I have to say the scenery is much better than at my apartment. I do not know why I didn't think of this before. Getting back from the trip west I will have to make it a point to find a new Wi-Fi spot to report from at least once a week. It is not that hard to find a hot spot, just hard to find an interesting one. I see several trips to Boston in my future.
I may have to keep the air-card going or at least find out how much it is for a two year contract. Imagine a live report from the whale watching boats..although late May is the best time to watch them, when mating occurs. It will take some thought and creativity. I am sure Mike could come up with some interesting blog spots out west. he just reported hiking the falls just east of Portland last night.

You snooze, you loose.
Well, I managed to procrastinate my way into missing the Boston/Portsmouth air show this weekend. The web site says that there are tickets available but when you go the area that says buy tickets, you find that you can only buy them at "the door" Saturday and Sunday. Looking further there is an indication that the door tickets are sold out though it does not say that exactly in that way. In any event, I am going down anyway to see if I can get in. It has happened the last couple years but it would be a shame if they stopped doing it.

A first time for everything.
Well, I just watched Blazing Saddles for the first time, start to finish. Mel Brooks defiantly has a unique sense of humor. Although crude in today's world, it is nice to see that artistic creativity was not stifled by political situations at the time. I do believe this is, or at one time, was my Bro's favorite movie. Sorry it took so long to see Bro (start to finish); we had watched it several times in the past but always while doing other things. Ah, it brings me back to the old times, Bro. Playing Zelda, screwing around on the computer, playing Aggravation, throwing wax on our friends....easier times. Funny movie Bro!

Western Adventure
Well, only one week until my trip out west. I will meet my parents in Albuquerque and we will have a terific western adventure. This will span the Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, Bryce Canyon, Salt Lake City, Grand Teaton, Yellowstone, Glacier National Park and Seattle. It is my plan to keep up with the blog while I am away. I will post some interesting pictures along the way. It is also my plan to post some pictures on Facebook as that seems a better medium for photo album's.
If anyone needs anything while I am out west be sure and let me know.

Hollywood Genius or Prostitution
While Avatar was a very impressive movie I have to say that I am a little disappointed in Hollywood or James Cameron or whoever had the idea to re-release the movie less than a year after the original release with a whopping 8 minutes of extra coverage. To me this seems like they deliberately left 8 minutes out of the original so they could re-release it and get everyone back in the theaters for 9 bucks a ticket for a second time.
I can't say I blame them. If the cattle will pay again to see it, then buy the blu-ray a second time, then good for them.
I don't know if I should laugh or cry watching the exploitation of the human nature. It is just a shame that Hollywood would stoop so low to shake the change out of the pockets of the people who are already paying a ridiculous price for movie tickets and DVD's.
